Unfortunately it does not seem like I have a lot of that now a days. I’m keeping busy finishing up the school year and preparing for graduation in May. I always forget how hectic this time of year gets. I guess I just block it from my memory.

A lot has been going on in my life. I have been nominated and received a couple awards and am waiting to hear about some others. I received the English Academic Award for my school. I am very proud of that for the mere fact that my college only has two full time professors and both of them nominated me for the award. I am being told that I am dedicated and determined and love to analysis literature and poetry. Mainly poetry though, as one of my literature professors can attest to. These assertions are all correct. It was nice to attend a small banquet with the boyfriend and received such pleasant acknowledgment of my skills in English and literature. It gave me that extra little push which will help me finish out the school year.

I am currently taking twelve credits since I have over exceeded the course levels you can take at a community college. Three of the classes are literature courses and since its the end of the semester, and the professors have realized they have not covered the entire book yet, they are cramming things in. A decent amount of reading, though I have learned that reading is not that big of a deal anymore. Its funny how fast one can get used to reading almost 150 pages a week. I do not have that much to read, mostly about fifty to seventy pages a week at this point, but that is simple to me now. Do not get me wrong, during the summer when I “fun read”, I have a tendency to read over 200 pages in a day, completely possible. But during the academic year, it can get rough when you are jumping from poet to author to short story to novel. Especially when you are taking three different literature courses that cover different time periods and nations. Though the reading is not the tough part, it is the essays. I have three left before May 1st. For American literature, I have to complete a character analysis of “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock” written by T.S. Eliot. I am almost finished. It is due on Monday so I have to finish it this weekend, hopefully today since I am probably going to be out all day tomorrow. The entire thing is written but its a matter of editing it for the second and, potentially, third time. Editing is the easy part though. For Holocaust literature, I have to watch a film, most likely I am going to watch “The Apt Pupil”, and write a critique. Easy really. It will only take me a day or two to watch the film and write the essay. Another couple days to sit down and edit the piece. I am going to work on that this coming weekend since it is due April 30th. Lastly, the dreaded English literature research paper. We only have two papers for that class, both research essays. The first one, which was handed in before March, I wrote about William Blake’s poetry and how it exemplifies his feelings about the religion and the liberty of the individual. I received an A on the paper and was pleased. I have an A in the class currently but am a bit concerned about what I will write about for this coming research essay. Since I wrote a character analysis of J. Alfred Prufrock, I think I am going to research how Eliot expressed his own disgust with sex and sexuality through the protagonist, Prufrock. I have about four pages on the character analysis, with some research I can definitely get another two to three pages and reformat the essay to that particular thesis for English literature. I think that sound fabulous. That will save me a lot of time, energy and stress.

So as of this moment, I have A’s in all my literature classes and a high B in Biology, which I am very proud of. I will be transferring to Rowan University in the fall and am looking forward to an easy transition. I will only be taking one literature class, which will be very strange, Shakespeare I. I will also be taking four education courses since I have to catch up on the teacher education aspect of my degree. So we will see how all that pans out.

In the world of knitting, I was knitting for quite a while. I ended up finishing two pairs of socks, a camera case and a skinny scarf. I even started on some knee high socks which I absolutely adore. Unfortunately, school has gotten in the way of my knitting time and everything has been put on the back burner. I am thinking of picking up the needles to start a pair of socks for my mother for Mother’s Day since I really do not know what else to give her but I am unsure of the time restraint. We will see. Once finals come around, all my reading and essays will be complete and I will only need to study. Actually, two of my classes, Biology and Holocaust literature, will finish up at the end of April, so I will only have to worry about American and English literature. Fantastic!

A point of reference, I am still unsure of how to upload pictures using wordpress. I have not really played around with the applications but am hoping that I will figure it out shortly. This is the main reason why I have not been blogging. I hate putting up a blog entry with no pictures. I feel pictures attract one to read the entry in its entirety. I will hopefully figure it all out soon, that way I can update you on my progress in the knitting world. I am also thinking of using this to update friends and family to what I am up to but I am not sure about that just yet.

Let me know what you think! Leave comments! Let me know that its worth my while to keep posting.

Have a great day in this beautiful weather!
