Check In @ Midterms

October 15, 2007 · 1 Comment

Hey everybody! I have been good and have been taking pictures of my knitting to make sure I keep everyone up to date on what I am doing. Though I suggest you finding me on ravelry if you have an account. It is much easier to post pictures there. But we will not worry about that now.

First on the list. It is midterms! God help me. I have been reading all weekend for English literature. Utopia by Thomas More. I have twenty more pages to finish and will try to get to it tonight but I doubt that will happen. Here are my lists of NEED and WANT to get done:

NEED:
American Literature:
Portfolio:
Cover letters one & two.
Table of Contents.
Organization.
Midterm:
STUDY MY ASS OFF!!!!

Physical Science:
STUDY MY ASS OFF!!! (for Wednesday)

WANT:
Poetry of the Holocaust:
Finish journal entries.
English Literature:
Finish last 20 pages of Utopia by Thomas More.

So we’ll see how all that goes.

On the knitting front, I have begun the knitting project (The Golden Eagles Scarf) for my boyfriend’s brother for Christmas. He asked for a scarf with his high school colors (gold and green). So, I’m knitting a Harry Potter type scarf. I cast on 70 stitches in the round on a US 9 circular needle. I believe its 16 inches long. Very nice. I work on it in class because I’m just doing stockinette and since its in the round, I’m really just working a knit stitch. Lovely!

I must say, it is turning out lovely!

My boyfriend went to a student programming convention in Pennsylvania (NACA) which I went to last year and they give you a ton of free stuff. They had a build a bear there and he brought me back a dog he stuffed! It is so soft and lovely! I sleep with it every night now!

I couldn’t resist. Sue me!

Another picture with me resisting this time:

Look how cute!

About two weekends ago, I was curious so I picked up a crochet hook and began crocheting. I taught myself how to crochet in a matter of hours (well, I got the tension down in a couple hours at least). So here is what I’m making my mother for Christmas:

Red, Grey, Pink!

I love it! I sit out on the porch, and though it is cold, it is lovely to work on. It covers my lap just right and I love the simplicity! It is working up quite fast. Since I took this picture last night, I added about eight rows.

I’m looking forward to several things and so should you! I will be reporting on Kirby’s Mill Apple Festival, Cranberry Festival, Basto Festival, life after midterms and tea.

Happy knitting!

The Quick and Dirty.

October 8, 2007 · 2 Comments

There is a bit to catch up on, I know. I’ve been so busy and overwhelmed recently and have not had the time to sit down and actually type. But I’ve been taking pictures and updating on Ravelry, so you should check me out there.

Though I’ve been busy, I have been knitting away. This is the Danica Scarf that I have been working on. I finished it in late September and it only took me three weeks. It turned out beautifully!

Danica!

I am also preparing for a show in November at a friend’s house. I’m trying to make about ten garter stitch scarves and a couple smaller items. I sell my scarves at $25 and am hoping to sell them all. I’m trying to get more gas and yarn money. What do you think?
Sage Garter. For sale, $25.

And now what you all have been waiting for! I received my Knit One, Tea Two swap package on Saturday! It is lovely! And it couldn’t have come on a better week, really! Take a look:
The package.

I received lots of goodies. Three loose teas, one bagged tea, a bath bomb, tea strainer, sock yarn (that’s beautiful!), hand made stitch markers, wash rag and coaster.

The surprise!

I loved it! Thanks Chelle!

I’ll try to update a bit more or to talk about things more in depth but honestly I can’t right now. Let’s just say I’m looking forward to winter break!
